Vintage Liberty of London Grey Yellow Silk Scarf with Irish Linen Cushion Pillow

Large custom made one-of-a-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from an exquisite vintagecirca1950’s silk Liberty of London fashion scarf in an evocative grey and yellow pattern. An unused scarf in a soft but masculine design with muted tones and fluid lines. Founded by Arthur Liberty, the world famous British department store Liberty of London began trading in 1875 in a small shop called East India House, by the 1920s it was a leading establishment. Liberty was not a designer himself but a businessman who had a gift for recognising talent and new trends, hiring the top designers of the time. By the 50s the store had a seasonal brochure dedicated solely to it’s scarves and still today a third of the ground floor of it’s magnificent mock-Tudor London flagship store is devoted to scarves.

Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. This sophisticated cushion would fit perfectly into a contemporary interior or in amongst Mid-Century Modern furniture.

Would look wonderful paired with one of our pieces of French art pottery, (as seen on

A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric.
