Vintage Jacqmar Pink Pop Art Silk Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion Pillow

Large custom made one-of-a-kind cushion (pillow) created from an exquisite example of a vintage Jacamar silk fashion scarf soft red and purple geometric pattern. Jacqmar was a very established London-based textile manufacturer who developed a fashion house after the Second World War. The company was founded by Joseph “Jack” Lyons and his wife Mary, the couple felt that J H Lyons did not sound swish enough so they Frenchified a mash-up of their first names and came up with the bizarrely spelled Jacqmar. The company gained a reputation for quality printed head squares from 1941 through the 1950s, and was noted for its patriotic scarves illustrating aspects of wartime Britain as well as scarves designed to be exchanged between wartime sweethearts. It went on to advertise in high fashion magazines such as Vogue and the prestigious V&A's also has Jacamar’s fine scarves in it’s collections. This silk is very delicate and sumptuous to the touch in pure silk with a luxurious mat finish.

Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, it really ‘pops’. Lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip.

A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric.
